My First Blog
Welcome to my first blog! My intention for this blog is to share my love of puppetry with hopes that you will find inspiration to share with..
I just wanted to update you all.
Here are some of the puppets made at the one day workshop at the Kindergarten Forum in Saratoga that I taught to about 24 folks on June 18th. We called the class “Puppets for Pockets” and I gave demonstrations of the many different kinds of puppetry methods and visual storytelling that can be utilized for this style of lap puppetry with a story apron. Anna Rainville began the morning with some fun circle songs and we had a very delicious potluck luncheon. Thank you to all who joined us!
The day before, on June 16th, I brought a puppetry project for the teachers at Escuela Popular in San Jose. There were about 20 or so teachers and they made a puppet pouch with an elf, a dormouse and a mushroom inside. Again a fun and productive puppet making day with a delicious potluck luncheon. The ceviche was yummy!
And today I head off to teach puppetry for The Art of the Preschool three day training at the Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks. I’ve been getting everything prepared the last couple of days.
Unfortunately my grades puppetry curriculum course got cancelled at BACWTT but we will offer it again at another time.
And please check out my updated calendar for my summer performance dates at Pinecrest Lake amphitheater on Tuesdays from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Located east of Twain Harte in Tuolumne County on Highway 108. My performance dates are July 11, July 25 and August 8th. It is always a fun time at Tall Tales and Silly Song Tuesdays with Bill Roberson!
And perhaps we’ll see ya at the High Sierra Music Festival on the 4th of July weekend up in Quincy, CA. Check out my calendar to see when I will be performing with one of my story aprons in the Family Village.
These large parade puppets are fun to watch in the evening parades at the festival.
